It’s one of the most ambitious underground construction projects ever seen. It’s also the largest archaeological endeavor in Europe. In Rome, Italy, armies of engineers are building Metro Line C to meet the needs of its growing population. Once complete, this hyper-efficient, 25 km artery will connect Rome’s outskirts to the city center. Now, after almost two decades of construction in the suburbs, Line C has entered the downtown core.
